Quick update
about 4 years ago – Thu, Feb 06, 2020 at 01:32:50 AM

Kia ora koutou (greetings) from Aotearoa (NZ) on this glorious Waitangi day (look it up, it's interesting). Just thought I would drop you all a quick update. Here is a quick video showing the proof copy of the book. The books and cards have been ordered.

Below are some updated renders, for the keen-eyed amongst you, will see that we have added rails onto the weapons and the new front foldable grip. This was a suggestion from the group which we have decided to implement.

The link below is for the PDF version of the 256-page book that's now gone off to the printers. We are currently awaiting the proof.

Below is a work in progress of our first RPG armed Russian, we are doing some changes... changing his backpack to an RPG backpack and adding a sight onto the RPG and some other general tidying up but thought we would share him at this point so you can see progress is being made.

Russian armed with an RPG - work in progress

Recently we have had comments about one of the positions for our Russians and how its impossible to run with an AK in one hand outstretched. This is the image we got the idea from. We just want you guys to be aware that we use real sources whenever possible and yes I realise this guy is carrying a smaller weapon but it proves it's possible and we like to make dynamic figures. We deliberately lowered the rifle as the Russian assault rifle is heavier. Anyway speak soon.

It’s a good news, bad news kind of a day
over 4 years ago – Fri, Jan 10, 2020 at 01:12:45 AM

Firstly, happy new year to everyone I hope 2020 is a great decade for you all and for Dishdash games and Phalanx Consortium.

Now let’s get down to business, first the good news.

I am happy to say the book (all 256 pages of it) has just gone off to the printers and we are waiting to see the turn round time for this. We believe it to be 2 weeks so those of you who brought rules only will have your books despatched as soon as they arrive with us.  I have been waiting for a confirmed date, but the printers have failed to give me one so far. Once I have a confirmed date, I will announce it.

I will post a PDF for people to download very shortly.

Now the bad news.

On the miniatures, front things are taking longer than we would like. Both sculptors are working hard, see images below, but the sculptor handling the US Army models has a long way to catch up.  Both sculptors are working to get their side of things completed, which has included learning the specific requirements for creating models that produce good metal castings.

Currently, it's looking like we may start rolling deliveries late February, early March and being totally honest you’re more likely to see Russians earlier than Americans. We hope this will all wrap up no later than the end of March.

Now we are in the New Year we will resume the fortnightly updates going out every Wednesday (NZ time) and will share everything with you just as soon as we have information.

cheers

Colin
