Ultracombat 28mm Modern Miniatures and Skirmish Rules

Hi guys,

At this point we are not sure how this will effect our timeline but feel its best to share it with you, so you are kept in the loop. Our US sculptor has been involved in a tornado.  Having been uncontactable for a while we were contacted late last week this is a direct quote 

"...4 days into the clean up, another tornado went through (there were 9 the first night)... fun stuff. Thankfully the tree that almost fell on the house had another close tree to land on so it didn't. Power is back..."

As you can see they have had a pretty close call and they are still having power and internet issues. This has caused, we think, about a  two weeks delay in our schedule. We are hoping to catch up over the next few months and still make our October delivery. From our perspective we are just glad everyone is safe and sound but thought it best to keep you all in the loop.

The good news is that the rules are now solidifying beautifully with some almost rabid playing from some of our playtesters who I publicly want to thank for all their helpful advice and suggestions. I won't name, names, as I didn't ask permission but you guys now who you are and are doing a sterling job.

This is a slide show of a squad level play test that walkabout games has released. We thought we would share it with you all. While its only pictorial it does show an interesting small game.

 The play testing is going well. The cover design has been finalised as this one:

Well our illustrator has once again worked his magic. Below is a work in progress of the book cover. We are really excited to see this and hope you all share our enthusiasm.

Here is a little update... the playtesting is going well, it would be nice if a few more of the people that said they would playtest would give us some feedback but those that are are being very helpful. If any of you would like to be involved you know now how to contact us. We have commission Johnny Shumate the illustrator for the Ultracombat Normandy cover to do the Ultracombat Moderns cover. See below his final sketch (just to work out the final positions etc) before he begins the real thing. Johnny is a multitalented illustrator who does work for companies like Osprey etc.

 The cover will be a little homage to the original Normandy cover but obviously updated to relfect our Ultramodern rules.

The Kornet is coming along nicely with the casting crew figuring out how best to cast those legs on the Kornet.

We hope to bring some more renders to you soon. So there is just a little update for you. More to follow hopefully soon.

So what's happening

Hi all, so what's is happening in the Kickstarter. Well, lots and lots, but not really much of anything as yet we can show you. 

We have been play-testing all three level so the rules and we are very close to another release for you guys to look at. We are continuing on with the development of the miniatures. Although to be fair the summer holiday season in the northern hemisphere has impacted on that a little, but the sculptors now having had their breaks they are back working hard on producing wonderful Miniatures. Below you can see an early work in progress of the Russian Kornet.

I wouldn't normally show these raw images as they are positional guides and will need a lot or refinement but as a few people have contact me asking for an update  I felt it was better to show you some of the work that's happening. Unfortunately pages and pages of notes and word documents aren't really that sexy to look at. 

In the background we have been casting all of the miniatures we have ready for production so as to reduce the delays when we begin to ship. 

One major change our research has shown is it appears that the Russians are favouring a seven man squad now. Originally our KS mentioned 8 man squads. Although things have changed for the Russians as far as we have been able to discern, rest assured we will still be delivering 8 man squads but the game will feature the new seven man set up  So you will end up with a few spares.

So this is only a little update but at least you get the idea we are working away even if we are not talking to you all on a daily basis. So thats about all of our news for now.
