Latest Updates from Our Project:

T-Poses and other stuff
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 16, 2019 at 03:33:55 AM

Hi all,

It's Wednesday (NZ time) and it's been two weeks since our last communication so its time for another brief update. See the video below, a work in progress of the new US T-pose. This has been done by our new sculpture. Now don't be alarmed, it has belts in the wrong place (40mm cannister) the body amour is to snug and too short, all things we are working on. But as you can see she has done a really great job of everything else. So once the new T-pose is done we can start creating the missing US miniatures.

We have also updated our book design from last time. We have made it more readable by using black text on a lighter background and we are colour coding the sections.

So that's just a brief update of what we are working on. Speak to you all in two weeks.

Latest update
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 02, 2019 at 01:41:11 AM

Good morning backers (NZ time)

We are in the process of hiring a new sculptor for the American Miniatures, we have found someone we like and are waiting for their test file to make sure they can do the work in the style we want. Fingers crossed they work out and then we will be back up and running. New sculptors need time to bed in and understand our systems, but we hope if all goes well that this person won’t take too long to get up to speed.

So how does this leave the KS, well as we said previously, we are going to be late, we now believe the final miniatures will be with you in January 2020.

Why January? Mainly because I want to play safe and not tell everyone a date and then to see it slide again. As I am sure you must be aware this last month or so has been very stressful on the team and I apologise if communication has been lacking. I will now communicate with you on a more rigid structure. I will send out an update every second week on a Wednesday NZ time.

In the interim, we are pushing the books and cards (see designs concepts below – this is a work in progress). We still hope to have these ready for delivery for the end of October. In October or at the very latest early November everyone will get at least a PDF of the book and cards, those of you that are rules only will have this quickly followed up with hardback books and physical cards.

If for some reason we cannot deliver the miniatures in January, we have decided as a fall back plan that we will do a part delivery of everything we have to date and follow up with the rest just as soon as we are able.

So now onto more figure-based news. I am attaching some more updated Russian poses of the Kornet Gunner.

I had a few comments about oversized guns and things. Now we have been posting WIP images but some the distortion you see is because these are production sculpts not artistic sculpts. Also, remember we get rendering distortion but see the graphic below. It shows the original sculpt and the cast figure. I hope that allays some of your fears.

A Delay
over 4 years ago – Sat, Sep 14, 2019 at 11:43:44 PM

Hi All,

When we planned this project, we had a detailed timeline of deliverables and we have been very close to all of our deadlines as we moved forward. Unfortunately, as I have mentioned in a previous post our US-based sculptor had a close-run thing with a tornado in her hometown and we lost contact with her for the best part of a month. We then discovered she was in the hospital. This has delayed the delivery of the American part of the project.

Last week, I received this from the sculptor of our Russians who lives in Italy.

“really sorry for the late reply and the delay. I had a car incident with my brother in law among other things I have a dislocated right shoulder that prevent me to work (I spent my birthday in the hospital).”

As you can imagine this caused us some consternation in the team but then in his effort to playing catch-up, he was able to send through all of those wonderful sculpts we showed you in the previous update, and we include a new one here for you to see. It now seems that the Russian side of things will continue without delay.

What does this mean for the project?

We have heard from our US sculptor who is handling the US Army side, but her health issues are taking far longer than anticipated to right themselves. At this stage, we are unsure when we will have her back.  As such we can now confirm there will be a slip in the production of the US Army side of things, but we are hoping that this can be minimised.  We are looking at our options here and will keep you posted as we have additional information regarding progress and delivery projections. While I appreciate this is not great news hopefully you can see that we are still working very hard on delivering this project.

On the positive side of the ledger, the manuscript for the book is with the editors and we are preparing for layout.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their playtesting and feedback over the developmental period.  It has been of invaluable assistance in bringing this system to life.

As always I will send out updates as I have them.

cheer
